History
Some names don’t retire—they reincarnate.

1948: A Legacy is Set in Motion
Mr. Radha Krishan Raina, our great-grandfather, establishes the Bharat Transport Company—the first transportation enterprise in Jammu & Kashmir. In a newly independent India, amidst the high valleys and crowded mohallas of Srinagar, he plants the seed of a family-run business that promises movement, connection, and purpose.

Expanding the Footprint
The company is modernized by his son, Mr. Jawahar Lal Raina—a deeply secular and compassionate man, known just as much for his business acumen as for his community service. He donated land, funds, and support for both temples and Sufi astans like Saed Sahib, building not just routes but also respect across religious lines.

From Roads to Robes - Reimaging the name
Today, we carry the legacy forward—not in diesel and wheels, but in threads and tradition.
Bharat & Tanvi is the new avatar of a name that has always stood for movement, service, and identity. We’ve traded petrol for pashmina—but the soul is the same.

It is Legacy, Not Nostalgia.
Wear it.
Honour it.
Revive it.
